"maybe your eyebrows are the problem?"

About

About
Since 1997 I have had the pleasure of enhancing the beauty of my clients as a licensed professional manicurist,  and along the years, I've become a Cosmetologist, Lash Technician, and Permanent Makeup Artist. I began to realize that I  have the LOVE for arching and shaping brows. My years of experience within the beauty industry, with a focus on eyebrows, have made me well equipped to provide the best possible experience for my clients. What is most rewarding is seeing the smile on my client's faces after I waxed and tinted their eyebrows. I wanted their brows to last longer so I became a tattoo Brow Artist. We all know that beauty comes from within, but our physical attributes somehow always affect how we feel about ourselves. This is more so for people who have had very negative experiences with inexperienced technicians or have slowly lost their eyebrows due to age or illness. Of course, what’s inside matters most, but if you’re not confident about the way you look, it causes unneeded insecurities. That’s why I take my role very seriously because at the end of the day my clients walk out happier and more confident.
Brows are the result of my obsession to go into semi-permanent makeup. I offer the absolute best to my amazing clients. My intense attention to the details and my dedication to providing the absolute best customer service are just two of the reasons for my success. I never stop learning and educating myself on the latest and greatest in the beauty industry so that YOU will always get the best of everything.
I followed my dreams, believed in myself and never gave up, leading to perfection for my clients!

PERMANENT MAKEUP CARE & FAQ

IMPORTANT INFORMATION // PLEASE READ

  • Be aware that you cannot be tattooed with a sunburn or freshly tanned skin.
  • Botox should be performed 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after the procedure. Preferably after.
  • No chemical peels 30 days prior and you must wait 30 days after (avoiding the brow area is recommended).
  • Be aware that frequent chemical peels will make your brows fade quicker.
  • Retinols/Retin-A's, other anti-aging creams or serums containing acids WILL fade your permanent makeup prematurely.  Please keep all potions away from the procedure area.
  • You must be OFF all Retinols/Retina-A 30 days prior to your appointment. If not, the area will bleed and pigment will not heal properly.
  • If you bleach  your eyebrows, it is not a good idea to have this procedure done.  The chemicals WILL bleach the hair & the pigment as well.
  • If you have had Permanent Makeup previously done in the area of procedure, and fail to tell us, we WILL be required to refuse service and your deposit will be forfeited.
  • If a client has undergone laser removal of the eyebrows, please note that there is now more scar tissue in the affected area.  This can cause the pigment to fade prematurely or look blurry.  There is also a chance that the area may be resistant to pigment uptake and may take more than one touch up.
  • If there are any blemishes, pimples, active cold sores, irritation of the skin of any kind, bruises or other skin imperfections IN or AROUND the area of the procedure, we WILL NOT be able to do the procedure until the blemish or area of concern are completely healed.
  • If you show up to the appointment and there is an area of concern, you will be rescheduled to the next available appointment (typically months out) and forfeit your deposit for the appointment time lost.  A new deposit will be required to reschedule.

Powder-fill and Hair-stroke Eyebrows
We do not work on clients with the following Contraindications:

  • Have eyebrow hair transplants
  • Eczema or Dermatitis in or around the eyebrows  (Chronic shedding, bumps, redness, irritation or flaking of the skin in the eyebrow area)
  • Any type of organ transplant that requires anti-rejection medications
  • MRSA-Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus
  • Severely Oily Skin is an exception with powder-fill. (Pigment will look more powdered and will fade more quickly )
  • Have Thyroid/Graves disease is an exception with powder-fill. (Medications may cause the pigment to turn ashey. Please tell us before booking)
  • Super thin/vascular skin
  • Alopecia (Due to change in skin & follicles, not all types of Alopecia clients are candidates)
  • Sunburned or freshly tanned skin
  • Under 18 years of age
  • Diabetes
  • Pregnant or lactating women
  • Glaucoma
  • Skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema and undiagnosed rashes or blisters on the site that is to be treated
  • History of cold sores (if so, consult with your physician.  Many clients avoid coldsore breakouts by taking a Valtrex cycle prior to their appointment.
  • Allergies to makeup or colors
  • Easily triggered post inflammatory hyper pigmentation
  • Transmittable blood conditions like HIV or Hepatitis
  • Active skin cancer in the area to be tattooed
  • Hemophiliac
  • Healing disorders
  • Blood thinners (consult with your physician)
  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure or mitral valve disorder
  • Accutane or steroids (consult with your physician)
  • Avoid supplements with blood thinning effects.  Supplements that have blood thinning effects include dong quai, fish oil, garlic, ginger, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, green tea, red clover, and vitamin E and should be discontinued 7 days prior to getting a cosmetic tattoo.  These supplements may increase bleeding especially if you’re taking blood-thinning medications like warfarin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
If you are a client who had previous PMU (done prior to us) or laser removal your touch up will be every 2 yrs.  If they fade more than you like, it is ok to pencil or powder until your scheduled appt.  This is an enhancement and will NEVER BE A PERMANENT SOLUTION.

As we age our skin changes. IF hairstrokes are done, it WILL eventually look more powdered, this is universal with all cosmetic tattoo procedures.

If you like, you CAN come to your appointment with your eyebrows penciled the way you like them. Bring your colored pencil of choice.

If you get your eyebrows waxed or tinted, please have this done at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled procedure. It is recommended to wait at least 10 days to have them waxed & 30 days for tinting after the procedure.

Regular makeup can be worn immediately after your procedure, just not on the treated area until healed. Absolutely NOTHING on the brows except what we give you...No Water...no makeup, lotions, potions, pencil and exercising because of sweating for 1 week.

Vaseline to be used only when you shower then gently wipe off afterwards. If you can take a shower without getting your face wet, I prefer you do not use the Vaseline at all.

The eyebrows WILL appear bolder immediately after the procedure. This is common in all Permanent Makeup applications...it will begin to soften up typically within 5-8 days. When choosing a color, it is recommended to go lighter until we see the healed results... we can always go darker at the touch up....WE cannot go lighter.

Hair strokes WILL appear crisp and bold at first, but WILL soften up in appearance as the tissue heals. The area will shed taking some color with it...this is normal. The area will begin to oxidize and darken over the 1st month.

DO NOT PICK!!!!!

It is very common to have areas fade more so than others..this is part of the healing process and will be treated at the recommended touch up appointment. Previously done eyebrows may take 1-3 treatments to achieve the desired result. Scar tissue in the brow area of eyebrows done multiple times WILL require additional procedures and fees will apply.

Red heads, blonds & fair skin types WILL experience more swelling, redness and fading than darker skin types.

Clients with darker skin (Indian, African American, Filipino, etc.), Please know that Hair Strokes WILL NOT appear as defined or as dark as lighter skin types due to the skin color already being naturally darker.

Touch-ups on old corrections or clients that have had tattoo removal will need a color refresher every 2 yrs.
*Disclaimer
It is required that the client consult with their Physician prior to taking, altering or stopping any form of medication and/or supplements, or making changes to their dosing cycles etc.
Unfortunately, not everyone is a good fit for the lip blush procedure. They may have something (such as symptom or condition) that makes this procedure inadvisable. The following is a list of contraindications for the lip blush treatment:
  • Under 18 years of age
  • Diabetes
  • Pregnant or lactating women
  • Glaucoma
  • Skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema and undiagnosed rashes or blisters on the site that is to be treated
  • History of cold sores (if so, consult with your physician.  Many clients avoid coldsore breakouts by taking a Valtrex cycle prior to their appointment.
  • Allergies to makeup or colors
  • Easily triggered post inflammatory hyper pigmentation
  • Transmittable blood conditions like HIV or Hepatitis
  • Active skin cancer in the area to be tattooed
  • Hemophiliac
  • Healing disorders
  • Blood thinners (consult with your physician)
  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure or mitral valve disorder
  • Accutane or steroids (consult with your physician)

Eyeliner
If you have had any eye surgery, i.e.; Lasix….Cornea..Upper or Lower Blepharoplasty…..Lens repair….. etc. you will need to wait at least 6 months before I will do permanent makeup on your eyes and a Dr’s note may be requested. If you have tear duct plugs, I do not do the liner procedure. NO EXCEPTIONS.
*If you have known anxiety issues, or do not numb well at the dentist and are fully aware of this, then this procedure is not for you. If you decline to inform me and I find out I will refuse to continue with your procedure.
  • If you have extremely Deep-Set eyes I will only do an upper and or lower Lash Enhancement.
  • I DO NOT do big eyeliners, or extreme designs. They do not age well with the skin.
  • Skin tone, eye shape and amount of eye tissue will have an effect on your healed outcome. Those used to using a liquid liner or dark black cannot expect a tattooed liner to look the same. A good example is to use a black sharpie pen on your arm. Now take a pair of nylons and pull it over the mark. That is how your skin tone effects your tattooed color.

IF USING AN EYELASH GROWTH SERUM (Latisse) OR THERE LIKE, YOU MUST DISCONTINUE USE  6 months PRIOR TO PROCEDURE AND CAN NOT USE UNTIL 2 WEEKS AFTER PROCEDURE.

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO INFORM US OF ANY EYE SURGERIES YOU HAVE HAD OR EYE CONDITIONS YOU CURRENTLY HAVE AS THIS WILL DETERMINE IF YOU ARE A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR LINER.

If you have hyper-sensitive eyes, watery eyes, tear duct plugs or severe allergies, refractive eye surgery etc. this may not be the procedure for you

  • All tweezing, waxing, or eyebrow and eyelash tinting should be done 12 days prior to procedure. Wait 2 weeks after procedure to tweeze or wax and 4 weeks to tint eyebrows or eyelashes.
  • If you got botox injections, you should wait at least 1 month before the treatment
  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine the day before & prior to the procedure, this will minimize any oozing/bleeding or swelling after the procedure.
Smoking WILL cause the pigment to fade prematurely and anesthetics will not last as long.
  • Getting a procedure while on your menstrual cycle can make you hyper-sensitive at the procedure site
  • Do NOT take Aspirin, Fish Oil, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen unless medically necessary, 1 WEEK prior to your procedure. If medically necessary than 2 days before treatment.
Very Important

  • Do wash your hair before your appointment because you can not get your tattoo wet
  • If you get cold sores or have ever had one in the past, you will need an antiviral prescription (Valtrex ) from your doctor before a lip procedure. Physicians usually instruct to take it 2 days before, the day of and 2 days after. As this procedure will bring out the virus if not medicated beforehand.
  •  If you do not have access for Valtrex, you can purchase over-the-counter Abreva® at any drug store.
  • We want those lips in good condition when you come in. For 1-2 weeks before your appointment, use a washcloth to exfoliate your lips. Use Aquaphor to keep lips moist and no long lasting lipstick for 1 week prior. Please use Aquaphor before and after for best results.
  • Avoid alcohol or caffeine the day before & prior to the procedure, this will minimize any oozing/bleeding or swelling after the procedure.
  • Antihistamines like Benedryl taken before the procedure may reduce swelling and help you relax.
  •  DON'T forget to purchase a small tube of Aquaphor  and some cotton swabs prior to your appointment, as you will need to apply ointment during aftercare.

EYELINER
  • Please bring eyeglasses if you wear contact lenses to all EYELINER appointments! You must wear glasses for 5 days after an Eyeliner procedure. Then you can wear contact lenses. Lenses must be new or clean!
  •  If you have an appointment for eyeliner please come in with absolutely no mascara. Make sure eyes are clean and free of any mascara residue. It is advised to use new mascara after healing to ensure no risk of a secondary infection.
  • No wearing lash extensions during procedure and must wait 2 weeks before you resume wearing them. If you use any lash growing serums, discontinue 3 months before and 2 weeks after your procedure.
  •  If you have an Ipod with some favorite music, listening has been known to help clients relax during their procedure.
  • Antihistamines like Benedryl taken before the procedure may reduce swelling and help you relax.  Benedryl also helps eyes not be so watery during eyeliner procedures. Watery eyes can dilute the pigment that is being implanted.

IF THE AFTER CARE IS NOT FOLLOWED PROPERLY, WE WILL KNOW AND IT WILL BE UP TO OUR DISCRETION IF WE WOULD CONTINUE TO WORK ON YOU IN THE FUTURE.  THIS IS AN INVESTMENT IN YOUR FACE AND THE AFTER CARE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE PROCEDURE.
  • DAY 1:
    • Please wash hands with antibacterial soap before you attempt to clean your eyebrows. Then use cotton ball to gently wipe your eyebrows every 1-2 hours. Do this 2-4 times today to avoid any build-up of blood/lymph on the area.
    • Pat dry with a tissue than apply a very thin layer of the Skin Candy. This is just to add a small amount of moisture-brows should not appear greasy, glossy or shiny, if they do, you used too much.
    • Do not use aggressive movement/manipulation of the skin-be gentle.
  • DAY 2-7:
    • Keep eyebrows lightly glossed with the Skin Candy for three to four times a day for the next 7 days. Do not over use ointment. It should last you for 7 days, only apply very thin layer. Do not suffocate your eyebrows.
    • Do not use any Retin-A, Glycolic Acids, Peroxide, Neosporin while healing
    • Do not scrub or pick your eyebrows.
    • Do not expose area to sun or tanning beds! Must use hat if in the sun.
    • Avoid any facials ,swimming, whirlpools or sauna for 7 days.
    • Do not exercise the first 3-5 days. No heavy sweating !
    • No make-up on the eyebrows!
    • Do not tint eyebrows for the next 20 days.

Day 1 (Day of the Procedure)

LIP BLUSH
It is very important to remove the lymph fluid from the surface of the skin in order to avoid heavy scabbing. Before bed, if the lips still have some dry lymph, rinse with lukewarm water, gently removing the dry lymph, pat dry and apply Aquaphor Healing Ointment. Sometimes the lips can bruise even after the procedure. Bruising will subside within 24 hours post procedure. NO STEAM. Avoid hot tubs, swimming pools, and hot baths for 1 week!! Avoid sweaty workouts, yard work or any activity that would introduce dirt or germs for the first 3 days.
Day 2 - 7

The lips may be swollen the second day as well. Please do not ice the lips. Keep the skin moist at all times, do not let the lips dry out. Continue to apply ointment every 30 minutes throughout the day. Again, do NOT let the lips dry out.

During Day 1 to Day 7 (or until the scabs are gone)

Please Avoid:

Water (on the PMU area) aside from cleaning them
Makeup
Excessive sweating
Sauna
Pools
Sunbathing
Spicy food
Kissing

Do not apply anything besides Aquaphor ointment (no Vaseline, antibiotic creams, Polysporin etc). Following the procedure, do not use creams that contain acids or ingredients that will lighten or exfoliate the skin. Touchups (if needed) can be done no sooner than 8 weeks after the original appointment.
After lips are no longer tender to the touch they may become flaky. This is normal and is expected. Please do not pick or scratch at them. This may significantly reduce the amount pigment uptake. Avoid the sun and tanning beds pre and post procedure. Be sure to use a sun block once lips are healed. Do not use any Glycolic, Hydroxy or fruit acid products on lips. Avoid direct water pressure, pools and other bodies of water, until healed. Please be advised it is a good idea to brush your teeth with just water for 72 hours, post treatment. You can resume wearing lipstick once lips are healed. Redness, swelling, tenderness, dryness are all common post treatment side effects and will dissipate in a short period of time. Avoid oily, salty, acidic foods and alcohol while healing.
After procedure, lips will feel tight. Allow them to remain immobile as much as possible until they peel. Avoid exaggerated facial expressions, drink fluids with straws and don’t pucker lips until they peel (approx. 3 days). Avoid stretching, rubbing and friction. Do not eat foods that require stretching such as sandwiches and fruits. Cut food and pass it over the lips.

  • It is recommended to buy a new tube of mascara to use after the procedure to reduce the risk of infection.
  • DO NOT USE oily makeup remover, baby oil, mineral oil or heavy creams, especially glycolics around the eyes.
  • Eyeliner can and will have some residual pigment that may peel or flake off after a couple days(in most cases)..that is ok..eyeliner tends to fade more so than brows due to the moisture in the eye area. After the touch up the color stays better and lasts longer….Eyeliner can take 2-3 procedures.
  • DO Not get get them wet but do keep them them clean
Approximate (not exact) Healing Schedule
EYEBROWS
  • Day 1-3 The eyebrows are approximately 30--50% darker and bolder in width than they will be healed. Your skin is red (irritated) under the pigment, and the pigment is oxidizing which causes the color of the pigment to appear darker and warmer. There is some swelling, although difficult to actually see due to the thickness of the skin in the eyebrow area. This will subside. Exfoliation, which begins in a few days, will cause the excess pigment surrounding the eyebrow to flake away and a more narrow appearance will result. New skin will heal over the pigmented area and result in a softer appearance of your eyebrows. Don't be concerned that your eyebrows initially appear darker and heavier in size than you desire. This is part of the process.
  •  Day 4-8 Eyebrows start to itch and will appear thicker in texture. This is normal. Exfoliation begins. The skin begins to flake, peeling from the outside edges first. Some will peel faster, others slower. Right after the exfoliation happens, it may appear that there is very light to no color. The skin may appear pink. This is all normal. New skin is growing over the area and within days the color will blossom.
  • Day 9-13 Some can expect residual flaking depending on your skin type. You will start to see the color blossom and see the healed color result
LIPS
  • Day 1-2 Swelling, tender, thick lipstick appearance. You may experience discomfort in the lip area.
  • Day 2- 3 Less swelling, pigment appears thicker in texture, sore, hot feeling before exfoliation. Feels like a mild sunburn. Exfoliation-very chapped lips
  •  Day 3- 4 Very chapped lips but almost finished with first chapping stage.
  •  Day 5 You will begin to see a soft version of the color.
  •  Day 6-13 Lip color lightens and a “frosty” stage begins. (This is the second chapping process). There may appear to be a whitish, grayish haze over the lip tissue. This will continue through day 13.
  •  Day 14-45 The healing is completed. The new color will continue to bloom up to 5 weeks. Although you will continue to see changes based on your body temperature, the color you see now can be consider your permanent makeup color. Lips may remain dry for a month or two. Use a good lip balm and sunscreen and they will soon return to normal, but with a soft noticeable color. Lip color in the skin is enhanced by the light’s reflection of the lip balms or clear ointments applied to the lips.
EYELINER
  • Day 1 Probable slight swelling. This is dependent upon the amount of histamines in each client's body. Normally you will appear as if you have been crying or have allergies. The eyeliner appears darker and thicker than it will be in a few days.
  •  Day 2 The morning of day 2 is normally the morning the swelling will peak. Plan on resting and applying ice over a clean barrier to the eyes to reduce the swelling if needed. The darker and thicker appearance continues.
  •  Day 3-4 Less swelling, however the eye tissue feels tight and somewhat drawn. Exfoliation begins. Some feeling of pinching and itching is quite normal. The pigment is dehydrating under the eye tissue and exfoliation continues.
  •  Day 5-10 The color of your eyeliner may appear somewhat grayish and lighter, however the color will clarify in a few days.
  • Day ll-30 The pigment has dehydrated in the skin and exfoliated. The eyeliner design appears thinner and lighter than on day one. Note: It is NOT normal to feel pain IN the eye or to develop a strong sensitivity to light or to experience excessive tearing. These are rare abnormal signs of eye irritation that require medical advice, and you should immediately contact your family physician or eye doctor. Some eyelash loss may occur. It is the normal weekly loss that occurs and is more noticeable because of our attention on the eye area after permanent makeup. They will grow back as normal.
  • NOTE: My work is only as good as the canvas I have to work on. If your skin is sun damaged, thick and uneven in texture, excessively dry or oily, the result cannot be exactly the same for each person. Scars on lips from fever blisters cause pigment removal. Medications, smoking, metabolism, facial surgery, age of skin, and lifestyle all contribute to fading. However, color refreshers are needed to ensure the best result and to keep your permanent cosmetics looking the best. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
A touch-up is an appointment that is needed most of the time to complete the procedure process. The touch-up appointment is a fine tuning session to make any adjustments that may be needed or desired to the shape, fullness, and color and to go over any areas that may not have taken well the first time. Almost always the color implanted is not perfect the first time when healed that is why permanent makeup is almost always a two or more step process.  My personal experience is that most will require one touch-up, whereas some will require a second touch-up appointment.  Once in a great while I will have a client where everything healed just perfectly and a touch-up is not needed at all, rare, but it does happen. It is my opinion everyone should utilize that touch-up appointment, even if everything appears perfect.  A second coat will give your procedure depth and longer life. We put a second coat on our nails and on our walls. Everything looks better and lasts longer with a second coat, so will your eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips.  I love touch-up appointments. This is where I get to look at my work and add the finishing touches to make what already looks great even better.

BROWS
The touch up is recommended no earlier than 30 days. Usually, we recommend to come for the touch-up in 6-8 weeks after the initial.
Color WILL fade/soften anywhere from 10% to 50% or more within 5-8 days. At the touch up we will fine tune any area that has faded too much. Healing is specific to each client. It is important to realize that you will need a color boost every 2-6 yrs to maintain it's fresh natural appearance. Fading WILL happen after each procedure. We do not have control over your bodies healing process.
LIPS
Wait a full 8 weeks in between appointments to allow adequate time for the color to bloom to its full potential before prematurely touching up.
EYELINER
Touch up visit in about 5 to 6 weeks. You may not come in sooner for a touch up. Touch up done before 5 to 6 weeks will cause the skin to be overworked and scarring may develop.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING AND BOOKING YOUR TOUCH-UP appointments.
There is a $50 charge for the Touch up's visit as long as it is completed within 90 days of the original visit. After that amount of time it may be considered a color boost and priced accordingly.

Yes you can! If the old permanent makeup is faded. If not, the technician can try to correct over but probably will widen the shape if it is possible. If the old permanent makeup has strong beginnings, then it is not possible to create Ombre brow effect. It can only be done by having the old permanent makeup removed. Please consult before booking.

There are two types of numbing – primary and secondary. We numb you for 25 minutes to do the first pass, after that we always use secondary anesthesia after each passes. Clients are really comfortable throughout procedure.

  • Avoid using  exfoliants, topical acne medications, resurfacings serums or lightening products like alpha hydroxy acids, retinol, etc on or around the brow area as they will strip the brows of their colour.
  • When swimming apply a little oil or barrier cream to your brows to stop the chlorine and salt from prematurely lightening your brows.
